The Valley Weavers & Spinners meetings are on the first Tuesday of the month. Social Hour starts at 6:00 pm and the meetings start at 7:00 pm. We meet at the Denkmann-Hauberg house at 1300 24th Street, Rock Island, IL 61201.

Winter in Bloom, Hauberg Center’s Holiday Open House, is Sunday December 7th from noon to 4:00.  We will make plans at the meeting.

Program:  An Overview of Twill Structure
In the Nov/Dec 2013 HANDWOVEN magazine, Madelyn Van Der Hoogt says, “It is no exaggeration to say that twill is the most illustrious and versatile of weave structures.”  
We will discuss twill characteristics, threading twill, weaving twill, its variations, and its uses in weaving.  
Please bring…your weaving class sampler if you have one… items woven in twill … books with information about twills.
